Jake Reiner is an American actor, writer, and producer who represents the third generation of Hollywood comedy talent.[2] Born in Los Angeles, he is the son of acclaimed actor and director Rob Reiner and grandson of comedy icon Carl Reiner.[1][2] Despite his family's prominent legacy in entertainment, Reiner initially pursued a career in television journalism rather than acting.[2] From 2013 to 2023, he worked as a general assignment reporter, sports reporter, and anchor for multiple news stations, including KION in Salinas, KPRC in Houston, and KCBS in Los Angeles.[2] While working in news, he simultaneously pursued acting opportunities in Los Angeles on a part-time basis.[1][2] In 2023, he made the pivotal decision to leave KCBS and commit fully to his true passion, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father.[2] Reiner's acting career has gained significant momentum in recent years. He earned recognition at the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival in South Carolina, winning awards for best comedy and best actor in a comedy.[1] His television credits include a role in the final season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO Max, as well as appearances in "For All Mankind," "American Crime Story," and "68 Whiskey."[1][2] He was selected from thousands of applicants for his leading role as Donald in the film "Love and Taxe$," marking his leap to leading man status.[2] Additionally, he starred in and executive produced the upcoming film "Things Like This."[1][2] Beyond acting, Reiner is actively involved in comedy sketch production and writing.
